About

Haemin Jee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Swarthmore College. Her research bridges the political economy of China with the international and domestic implications of great power competition. Before arriving at Swarthmore, she was an Assistant Professor of International Affairs in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She completed her PhD in 2022 at the Department of Political Science at Stanford University. Prior to attending Stanford, she received an A.B. in Government from Harvard University.

Her peer-reviewed work has appeared in Governance, Perspectives on Politics, and Democratization, and she has contributed a chapter to Automated Governance in China? (Leiden University Press, 2025). She is a Nonresident Fellow at the National Bureau of Asian Research and has conducted 14 months of fieldwork in China.
